e-nable Your Business (eYB) comprises of a scalable and flexible XML-based ‘universe’ comprising of an integrated server system that communicates to a variety of client applications using mobile telecommunication data networks such as GPRS, CDMA and GSM provided by any mobile telecommunications provider. The Java-based client application runs on any mobile device such as a mobile phone, PDA or tablet PC. The server system is accessed using a standard web browser and accessed via an TCP/IP connection.
The back-office application provides the administration and management functionality, but more importantly controls the underlying logic behind the processes supporting job control, work requests, resource scheduling and work order dispatching. Each job or work order can be supported by a work flow process that has the functionality to allow an organisation to model their manual ‘paper based’ business processes to an electronic ‘computer based’ environment. The modelling process is made simple to use through the availability of a sophisticated graphical user interface (GUI) that allows a user to build a ‘logical and visual’ flow diagram of their processes and business rules.
A series of XML-based tags have been developed to retrieve each piece of data from within the back end system’s database and display it either on the remote device or within the web browser of an ‘office user’, although that user does not have to be physically located within an office.
